The Nintendo Switch’s catalog of games this past year was great, and it’s not stopping. New titles are coming to the portable console that will get fans excited. Prepare your wallets and get those Nintendo Points ready! Here are all the Nintendo Switch Games coming in 2025.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond

After years of waiting, the fourth installment of the Prime series is coming next year with Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. The game will follow the storyline of the third installment and focus on Samus embarking on a new mission as the galaxy’s greatest bounty hunter. Despite being in development jail for 8 years, the developers of the previous Metroid Prime games will be handling the action-adventure game. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is set to release around Q4 of 2025. 

Pokémon Legends: Z-A

Pokémon fans rejoice! A new installment of the game is coming with Pokémon Legends: Z-A. This new title is part of the 9th generation of Pokémon games and serves as a follow-up title to Pokémon Legends: Arceus. The game will take place in Lumiose City, a part of the Kalos Region, which was introduced in Pokémon X and Y back in 2013, during the city’s urban re-development project. The game will also feature the return of the Mega Evolution mechanic. No exact date has been given for the game’s release in 2025. 

Professor Layton and the New World of Steam

If you’re more into puzzles and solving riddles, Professor Layton and the New World of Steam has you covered. The game is the latest title in the Professor Layton series, revolving around advanced steam engines causing a technological revolution in Steam Bison. A mysterious accident causes Hershel Layton to come to the town and investigate. Due to the passing of the series’ former puzzle designer Akira Tago, the game will now feature puzzles designed by QuizKnock. The game has yet to announce an exact release date for 2025. 

Guilty Gear –Strive-

Fans of the Guilty Gear franchise will finally get Guilty Gear Strive on the Switch. The game is the 7th mainline installment of the series and follows the events of Guilty Gear Xrd and the conclusion of Sol Badguy’s story. Strive features the new Wall Break mechanic, where the stage transitions when a combo is initiated at the corner of the arena. The game is set to be released on January 23, 2025. 

Lost Hellden

Lost Hellden is a JRPG developed by Artisan Studios. The unique aspect of the game is its never-before-seen hand-painted art style for the characters. Players take control of 8 highly customizable characters throughout the story. The story follows Cyphel and Leht on their journey of self-discovery about their planet’s rituals and destiny. The game has no exact release date for 2025. 

Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition

Xenoblade Chronicles X was initially released for the Wii U in 2015 and will now get a Definitive Edition for the Switch. The critically acclaimed RPG will have enhanced visuals, new features, and an expanded storyline. The game takes place in 2054, after an intergalactic war. The survivors are working to establish a new home on the planet of Mira. The game will feature exploration, tactical combat, and engaging quests. Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition will be released on March 20, 2025.
