The Block episode 29 kitchen reveal: Angry Mitch tells judges to ‘go f*** yourselves’ over final score
An enraged Mitch has launched an expletive-ridden tirade against judges Shaynna Blaze, Neale Whitaker and Darren Palmer, leaving Channel 9’s censors working overtime to cover up the sweary list of insults he lobbed after receiving the lowest score.
Mitch and Mark received harsh criticism from all three judges for using drawers to store dry food in their main kitchen, with Neale labelling them “all style over substance”.
“F*** you!” Mitch spat angrily every time host Scott Cam revealed one of the scores for their kitchen.

How the twins are sticking their finger up at the judges
“I’m supposed to listen to them? Go f*** yourselves!” Mitch ranted.
“I’m not interested in their feedback. Their feedback is irrelevant.”
Adding fuel to the fire, Mitch and Mark were fuming that (once again) Luke’s fiancé, Olivia, had been on site helping the Love Islanders get ready for room reveals.
Olivia was filmed helping the twins clean and style their kitchen ahead of judging – a clear breach of the rules. She did the same thing in master bedroom week. On neither occasion did her assistance effect the scores or even come up on judgment day – a bone of contention with Mitch and Mark.
“The boys (twins Josh and Luke) brought in help last night that Scotty clearly knows about because its all on camera and yet it has no impact,” Mitch fumed to a producer. “So, this is absolutely a farce.”
Despite their palpable rage, Mitch and Mark were still good sports about Kirsty and Jesse’s victory.
The country musicians took home $120,000 in prizes for their navy blue and gold kitchen, which wowed the judges enough for Neale and Shaynna to each give it a perfect score. Darren scored them a 9.5 because they didn’t include a second bin in their expansive gingham butler’s pantry.
“My [arm] hair is standing on end that’s how perfectly they have done the five-zone kitchen in this space,” Darren said, using the opportunity to showcase his sculpted arms.
A bald Neale joked his hair was also standing on end because the room was “everything he wanted to see and feel in a kitchen”.
Given the overwhelmingly positive feedback from the judges for Kirsty and Jesse’s efforts, Ronnie and Georgia wisely elected to hold on to their golden gnome to use at a later date when a bonus point would guarantee them the win.
Unfortunately, Ronnie and Georgia’s neutral and impeccably styled kitchen was let down by yet another small cupboard.
The couple made the same mistake with their walk-in-robe in master bedroom, which ultimately cost them the win and saw them having to redo it.
The judges were also underwhelmed by the size of the twins’ cupboards, saying it was “more of a walk-in pantry than a butler’s” Which, in design speak, is the ultimate kitchen insult.
While they were wowed by the colour and style of Tanya and Vito’s pink and terrazzo kitchen, the couple lost a lot of points for their functionality.
Neale said of their unusual design choices: “This is a kitchen that says love me or hate me, but don’t ignore me.”
Shaynna noted the fridge was in the wrong place, there was no bin and too much of their impressive terrazzo benchtop had been given over to sinks and cooktops, leaving little room for people to sit at or prepare food.
“It makes me sick because they imported this [stone bench] and it is stunning but there’s no way to do anything different with that,” Darren lamented.
Of course, they saved their harshest words for Mitch and Mark, describing their decision to store dry food in drawers as “dumb”.
“The comments are stupid. I have no respect for the judges so I shouldn’t let somebody hurt me that I have no respect for,” Mitch said as Mark emphasised that they would not be implementing any of their suggestions.
Bring on tomorrow’s house tours because, no doubt, Mitch and Mark will have a lot to say about their competitors’ kitchens if they don’t like what they see.
JUDGES’ FINAL SCORES:
Kirsty and Jesse: 29.5
Ronnie and Georgia: 27
Josh and Luke: 26.5
Tanya and Vito: 25.5
Mitch and Mark: 22.5
