Social Media App “MelaninPeople” Designed to Support and Connect Black People Launches

A Houston area entrepreneur is trying to connect Black people across the world with a new social media app designed to uplift the culture.

Adeyinka Adegoke is an engineer, certified scrum master, and business analyst but he can now add the title of CEO of MelaninPeople to his list of accomplishments.

Adegoke designed the app MelaninPeople to create a safe digital space for Black and brown people who want to interact and support one another. “Our vision is to connect people of color from different parts of the world, share the culture, and increase our socio-economic awareness,” Adegoke explains.

The app is designed in such a way that individuals, entrepreneurs, and organizations can promote their brands to the community. But while it is geared toward the Black community, MelaninPeople is for anyone, including non-Black people who love and want to support the Black community.

The app is user friendly, allowing users to specify their connection preferences. With an interface Adegoke says is comparable to other social networking platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok, communication is done through short-form videos (30 seconds max), pictures, magazines, podcasts, and private messaging.

MelaninPeople also allows Black businesses to promote their products or services. Users can also post and share links of their favorite videos, music, and current news and events. The posts are shareable to other social media platforms.

“We are fully aware that the majority of Black and brown people all over the world use apps daily as content creators and get little to nothing in return as monetary value. The MelaninPeople app is strategically positioning itself to revolutionize this,” Adegoke told Blacknews.com

Users can download the app via the Apple Store, Google Play store, or directly from MelaninPeople.com.
