See Henry Cavill Step Into Classic Superman Suit For ‘Man of Steel 2’

A new concept design for a potential Man of Steel 2 sees Henry Cavill with a classic Superman suit.

Bringing superhero outfits to life is no easy feat, with costume designers balancing a fine line between honoring the comics while staying true to the theme of the film (or TV show) at hand. When Henry Cavill donned his version of the Superman costume for Man of Steel, the Zack Snyder-directed film brought a modern tone to the suit while exploring the Kryptonian culture a little further. And although Cavill’s future as Superman feels a little up in the air for the moment, a concept design seees the star wearing a classic look if he returns for a follow up to Man of Steel.

The fan art from Instagram user “jph_photoshop” gives Cavill’s costume a brighter blue suit complete with the red trunks and yellow belt from the comics. While the iconic ‘S’ on his chest matches the design of other versions of the hero fans have seen in film and TV, like Christopher Reeve, Brandon Routh and Tyler Hoechlin. The hero himself will next be seen in The CW’s Superman & Lois, which follows Clark Kent and Lois Lane trying to manage their respective, complicated lives as well as running a family.
