Seahawks vs. Buccaneers live score, updates, highlights from 2022 NFL Germany game

The Seahawks and Buccaneers are ready to face off in a historic NFL game.

Seattle and Tampa Bay will be the first teams in league history to play a game in Germany, a country that has an impressive American football following. Whether those squads can live up to the expectations of the host nation remains to be seen, but there are plenty of storylines heading into the meeting.

Chief among those is the career resurgence of Geno Smith, who took over as the Seahawks’ quarterback without many outside expectations. Nine games and a 6-3 record later, Smith has Seattle in a commanding position atop the NFC West.

Conversely, Tom Brady has not had the 2022 campaign he might have hoped to enjoy when he came out of retirement in the offseason. That said, the 45-year-old future Hall of Famer is coming off a game in which he engineered a last-minute comeback over the defending Super Bowl champion Rams. That helped him avoid his first four-game losing streak as a starter.

The QB duel between Smith and Brady is the biggest story heading into Sunday’s game, but not the only one. The Sporting News is tracking all the action from the first NFL Germany game. Check out the updates and highlights below.
