RUMOR: Gwyneth Paltrow Eyed For MCU Return In ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ And ‘Secret Wars’
Is Gwyneth Paltrow making her return to the MCU? A new rumor suggests the studio wants the actress back in Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars.
When it was revealed that Robert Downey Jr. would be taking on a new role as Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars, fans immediately began to speculate how those closest to him in the MCU would react. While it’s all but certain that Tom Holland would interact with the character as Spider-Man, it was unsure if characters like Gwyneth Paltrow’s Pepper Potts and Morgan Stark would end up making their return.
Yet it seems Marvel has big plans for Avengers: Doomsday. A new rumor from DanielRPK revealed that the studio wants Gwyneth Paltrow back for the next two Avengers films, including Secret Wars. However, the insider did clarify that he hasn’t heard anything about Paltrow being in official talks yet, meaning the future of Pepper Potts in the MCU is still very much up in the air.
How Gwyneth Paltrow Could Return In The MCU
The obvious answer for what role Gwyneth Paltrow could play in Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars is as the main Pepper Potts in the MCU. If someone that looks like Iron Man is threatening to take over the multiverse, it only makes sense that his wife would be recruited to give some sort of insight on his plans of attack.
However, that’s not the only way Gwyneth Paltrow could return. It’s possible that she plays an entirely new variant of Pepper Potts in Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars. Perhaps in the world Robert Downey Jr’s Doctor Doom comes from, she continued using the Extremis virus from Iron Man 3, turning her into a fiery villain that’ll fight the MCU’s greatest heroes.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters in May 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
