Quick sales earn big rewards for sellers in Geelong’s inner north

Sellers of a Hamlyn Heights property earned a $50,000 bonus as four buyers competed for the keys just days into their auction campaign.

The three-bedroom house at 7 Langibanool Avenue sold for $650,000, six days after it was listed for sale.

Buyers jumped on the 731sq m property, eager to snap it up privately.

The auction was scheduled for March 6.

Hodges, Geelong West agent Marcus Falconer said the sellers were happy to deal when the high offers came rushing in.

“It sold to people who had sold during the pandemic so they were pretty keen to secure something,” he said.

“They were a young local family who competed against a lot of out-of-town interest.

“Primarily it was just people who were owner-occupiers really.”

The property near Church Street offered buyers options to renovate or extend, demolish an rebuild, or construct townhouses.

Listed in original condition, the house offered three bedrooms with built-in wardrobes, a formal lounge room, an open central kitchen with meals area, a bathroom with bath and shower, and a separate laundry and toilet.

“With stock levels as scarce as they are, people are clambering to secure something quickly.

“That was an amazing result in Rippleside.”
