The renovation boom in Potts Point’s Victoria St is set to go into overdrive with the arrival of another grand 1840s terrace onto the market.

Although it’s palatial now and current owner Joy Morais, wife of corporate adviser Wrix Gasteen, has done a reno since her $5.55m purchase in 2016 from the Moloney family, no doubt the new owners will want to bring it right up to the minute.

The four-level residence with a 10m street frontage onto 55 Victoria St has hit the market with an $11m to $12m price guide via Imran Hamidi of McGrath, in conjunction with Patrick Cosgrove of Ray White TRG.

55 Victoria St, Potts Point, has an $11m-$12m price guide.

It has a 10m wide street frontage.

The listing is on the back of Hamidi’s $10.3m sale last May — the current street record — for a newly refurbished terrace at 154 Victoria St.

That was snapped up former Young Rich Lister Rishi Khilnani, co-head of small-cap investments at Paradice Investment, before it could even hit the open market.

This latest offering is substantially wider than No. 154, which was just six metres wide.

More beautifully restored terraces are on the way in the wide, tree-lined street that’s fast becoming the place to be — council records show development applications on three of the neighbouring houses.

And Fat Prophets CEO Angus Geddes is planning a major refurbishment of the former backpackers, Kanga House, which consisted of three terraces, which he bought for $11m. It’s set to become one grand home.

The Morais property, which has off-street parking for two cars, quality finishes throughout and balconies with city and harbour views.

It’s an entertainer’s paradise, with a sprawling living and dining space with high ceilings and chandeliers.

There are four elegant bedrooms (the master has a fireplace); three marble bathrooms and two guest powder rooms.

The stylish home office has its own access to the street and there’s also a self-contained apartment.
