Point Piper’s new development Vilon has launched with a bang, with Gavin Rubinstein selling two apartments totalling $30m as he gears up for season two of the reality TV show Luxe Listings Sydney.
Rubinstein, the founder of TRG (The Rubinstein Group), will star alongside Laing and Simmons Double Bay principal D’Leanne Lewis, Black Diamondz founder Monika Tu and buyer’s agent Simon Cohen in the global Amazon Prime global hit show from this Friday.
And the stars announced on Instagram yesterday that a third series would launch later in the year.
Meanwhile, Rubinstein has been busy selling off-the-plan apartments in the new luxury boutique block Vilon, by celebrated architects Burley Katon Halliday and developer STM Property Group, in Sydney’s most exclusive thoroughfare, Wolseley Rd.
A downsizer snapped up a whole-floor three-bedroom garden apartment for $14m, with a level five whole-floor unit fetching 16.5m — all within a week of the project being launched to the market.
Buyers loved the size of the ground-level apartment, which offers 243 sqm of internal space and a 275sqm garden, plus views of the Harbour Bridge and city panorama.
Naturally the level five three-bedroom apartment, with 205 sqm of internal space, had an even better harbour view.
That was purchased by an investor who wanted it for his parents.
Another apartment, on level three, sold off-market about two years ago to a contact of the developer.
Rubinstein isn’t particularly surprised that three of the six luxury apartments have already sold.
“If it’s high quality and unique in the east, it gets snapped up period — this is the best development available right now,” he said.
“Wolseley Rd is the jewel of the crown and with views across icons, gun-barrel to the west and views over Rose Bay marina to the east, with these layouts and proportions it makes this opportunity one of a kind.”
The landscaping is being done by renowned Dangar-Baron Smith.
Rubinstein has already knocked back an offer for $27 million for the dual-level top-floor apartment.
Vilon’s penthouse will cover the top two levels and measure 390sq m internally with four grand bedrooms and four to five bathrooms.
The TRG Projects team has decided to finish the building and then explore marketing the penthouse through a bespoke campaign.
“This is the best apartment I’ve seen in Sydney and I have seen a lot of good apartments,” Rubinstein said.
The level four apartment hits the market this week with a guide of $15m-$16m.
There is only that and the level two apartment, not including the penthouse, that remains.
