Major Aussie retail bosses have secured sales for their impressive homes in Melbourne’s south.

Ex-Oakley and 2XU chief executive Paul Higgins offloaded his Brighton “fun house” of almost 20 years in a speedy expressions of interest campaign.

The Synapse Capital director and his family collected an undisclosed price for 7a Birdwood Avenue, which Buxton Brighton agent John Clarkson confirmed sold near the top end of the $4-$4.4m price guide.

The property sold within its $4-$4.4m price guide.

“There were three interested parties and a person living around Hawthorn ended up buying it,” Mr Clarkson said.

“It’s a really prestigious address in the Golden Mile of Brighton and there’s a scarcity for this type of property at this price range at the moment.”

Mr Higgins previously told Property Confidential he and his wife Jenny renovated the three-bedroom house to make it “the most fun family home” possible.

A light-filled living area looks out to the backyard.

The Higgins family lived at the property for almost 20 years.

“We had a World Cup skateboard ramp builder put a $30,000 ramp into the backyard, which is just one of those crazy things you do,” Mr Higgins said.

A front yard amphitheatre, in-ground trampoline, pool, spa and upstairs children’s retreat were other extravagant features of the property.

The Higgins family will split their time being other properties in Noosa and Anglesea once moved out.

Mr Krongold said two buyers showed interest in the five-bedroom pad that was renovated by the shoe brand boss and his late wife Zoe about 10 years ago.

A sunken lounge, wine cellar, and a living room and outdoor pool zone decorated with colour-changing LED lights had attracted plenty of interest.
