Overwatch 2 Brings Back a Nostalgic Experience with Classic Mode
Overwatch 2 is taking you back in time with Overwatch: Classic. Classic Mode is a limited-time event that lets players experience Overwatch exactly as it was at its launch in May 2016, bringing back the original gameplay and balance. Here’s everything you can expect with Overwatch: Classic.

Overwatch: Classic Details
Overwatch: Classic is available from November 12 to December 2. The developers have stated in the past that they want to bring back the original 6v6 format in Overwatch 2, but Classic isn’t part of said plan. Classic will just be a limited-time event to experience nostalgia and play the game how it was at launch. This event doesn’t require you to install anything as it’s part of Overwatch 2, and you can find it in the Events Hub.
Original Abilities
Classic Mode will bring back the Heroes’ original abilities, some of which haven’t been seen in years. Each Hero can power up their Ultimate ability faster in this Mode. And aside from the abilities, there will be a No Hero Limits rule in the Mode for the first few days of the event, meaning players can all pick the same hero to mess around in matches. The original 4 classes have also been brought back. Here are all the Heroes available in Classic Mode:
