Now With the Phoenix Suns, Chris Paul Finally Sells Houston Home
It’s official. The NBA All-Star Chris Paul has finally closed on a sale of his Houston mansion. The modern build landed on the market after Paul was traded from the Houston Rockets to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Now, the home has been passed on to a new owner, and the 35-year-old point guard is with yet another team, the Phoenix Suns.
The final sale price wasn’t disclosed, but the mansion had last been on the market for $7.2 million, before it sold last month. Paul was initially seeking a bigger return when he listed the posh property for $8.3 million in August 2019.
The point guard hadn’t owned the home for long before it went up for sale. The North Carolina native picked up the place in 2018. Although the price Paul paid is also undisclosed, the home had been available for $6.9 million just before he pounced.
With just over 10,000 square feet of interior space, the floor plan offers five bedrooms, six full bathrooms, and three half-bathrooms.
The modern space features gorgeous details like steel-framed, floor-to-ceiling windows that give the rooms an industrial flair, as well as natural light. Texas limestone, 200-year-old farmhouse oak beams, and French imported clay roof tiles also grace the house.
Completed in 2013, the Lauren Rottet-designed residence features a number of other stylish touches, such as a double-sided marble fireplace for the adjoining living and dining rooms.
The dining area includes a temperature-controlled, 750-bottle wine case and wet bar. A high-end kitchen features stainless-steel counters, Miele appliances, and a marble-topped island. A pass-through from the kitchen accesses the breakfast nook, which leads outside.

The four en suite bedrooms all open to private terraces. The master suite also boasts massive dual closets and a sitting area with a fireplace.
Other rooms include a library, study, game room, and a home theater with room for a giant, leather couch.
Outside, the almost 1-acre grounds sport a limestone-edge pool, fire pit, and poolhouse, along with an outdoor barbecue and dining area and fireplace. An attached garage completes the property.
The NBA star is a seasoned real estate wheeler-dealer. While with the Los Angeles Clippers, Paul sold a mansion in Bel-Air for a reduced $8.7 million in 2017. The singer Avril Lavigne had sold him the estate for $8.5 million in 2013.
The point guard also owned a pad in Calabasas, CA, which he picked up in 2017 for $9 million, and then quickly sold for $11.05 million in 2018, pocketing a hefty $2 million profit, Variety reported.
The 10-time All-Star began his career with the New Orleans Hornets way back in 2005. Since then, he’s run the point for a number of playoff teams, but has never snagged a ring.
