An eclectic mix of high-priced and architecturally stunning properties have topped the ranks of most-viewed sale listings on realestate.com.au so far in 2022.

Analysis of activity on the country’s number one property portal for the first half of the year shows Aussies remain obsessed with dreamy abodes.

And it’s clear that homes with quirky or unique features are likely to capture imaginations.

Spectacular views and a hefty price tag

One look at this Mosman mega mansion and it’s easy to see why the five-bedroom, four-bathroom home went viral shortly after hitting the market.

Boasting priceless views of Sydney Harbour, the Opera House, and the city skyline, 13 Rickard Avenue was held by the previous owner for 40 years.

And while it features luxury finishes and every possible creature comfort, it was the unique tunnel-like entry that generated the most attention.

Resembling a kind of cave, the unique rocky entry connecting the main entrance and garage to the home’s lift certainly made a statement.

Chic interiors, multiple sprawling living areas, a gourmet chef’s kitchen, oversized bedrooms and several outdoor entertaining spaces completed the prized offering.

Not long after hitting the market, the home sold in February for a whopping $11.5 million.
