ONE of Queensland’s first MasterChef contestants has sold her luxurious Ashgrove home with a showstopping designer kitchen for a tidy $3 million.

Interior designer Sandra Moreno spent 11 weeks on MasterChef and was one of the final 10 contestants in 2009.

Inside QLD’s housing boom

The kitchen in the house at 34 Mareeba Rd, Ashgrove, is a stunner.

Here it is from another angle.

Her kitchen with dual island benches, coffered ceilings, marble finishes, walk-in scullery and cold storage room, was inspired by the hit reality cooking show.

But Ms Moreno has had to settle for a significantly lower offer than she had hoped, given she first listed the property for $3.68 million in November 2019.

The six-bedroom, five-bathoom property was sold by Emil Juresic and Leo Liu of NGU Real Estate.

The house is picture perfect from the street.

The lavish house sits on a huge, 1128 sqm block and has an indoor lap pool, hot tub, ice bath, sauna, gym, and billiards room with bar.

Double height ceilings over the dining room and giant arched windows give the monchromatic home a sense of grandeur.

Selling agent Tyson Clarke of Queensland Sotheby’s International Realty said – 0407 034 803

“This home just blows me away,” Mr Clarke said.

“You don’t know what to expect but when you walk in the front doors it’s kind of like a cross between Ritz Carlton and a Raffles Hotel, but instantly feels homely and relaxing.

Marble features heavily throughout the home, including the bathrooms.

“The finishes and attention to detail through the home are on par with the best of the best in Brisbane.”
