Luxury Franklin property could break suburb sales record
Cleverly crafted, private and sophisticated, this Franklin residence is expected to blitz the suburb’s sales record when it goes to auction this month.
Selling agent Josh Morrissey, from HIVE – Canberra, said there had been a flood of interest from well-heeled buyers from Canberra’s inner south and inner north, who had sought out 6 Alice Crist Street because of its exceptional quality and high-end inclusions.

Mr Morrissey said the property had the potential to surpass Franklin’s current record of $1.55 million for the sale of 155 Oodgeroo Avenue in 2017.
“We are drawing buyers from the inner north and inner south – 50% of the buyers who have inquired and come through were from those areas,” he said.
Mr Morrissey said buyers from those areas were attracted to the suburb because of this house.
“Most of our serious interest (from people who are) looking to attend the auction are from the inner north and inner south. They weren’t actually looking at the region at all.
“I think that speaks volumes about the quality of this property.”
Set across from parklands and built in 2011, the home combines smart design with beautifully curated features, including a stunning 6m entry void, Italian tiles in the alfresco, a custom gas fireplace and striking stone feature wall imported from Japan.
The five-bedroom, three-bathroom abode heralds 334sqm of living space, including a rumpus room with separate entry, a kitchenette and a powder room.

Additional features include a 143sqm four-car garage, solar panels, in-slab heating and integrated security and a home automation system.
“To have a house of that scale in a fringe suburb so close to the city is very appealing to people because it’s only 10 minutes to the city,” Mr Morrissey said.
“It’s an aspirational property. A lot of upsizers, now that cash is cheaper, are looking to get into a property this size.
“The buyer pool has actually expanded for a property like this since COVID. We are generally seeing more people with an appetite for a property of this calibre than we did a year ago.”
The property at 6 Alice Crist Street, Franklin, is due to go to auction at 11am on February 13.
