Londonderry estate with 50 statues and a dirt bike track offers savvy opportunity for buyers
Buyers interested in seeing a boxing kangaroo, koala and a nun in one place need to look no further than this sprawling estate in Sydney’s west.
The 1.62ha property in Londonderry near Richmond features two houses, a dam, dirt bike track and close to 50 statues.

Why this Sydney house full of junk may sell for $1
On the market for the time in decades, the statues found in the front year of 149-155 Reynolds Street have all been hand carved by the late father of the vendors.
The sculptures completed on the property include dogs, birds, hands, athletes, buildings and of course some of Australia’s most iconic animals.
Ray White Richmond agent Rhonda Schellnack said the statues were hand carved by the father of the sellers who also built the property.
“It was a hobby for him, he loved making statues,” she said,
While the statues have put the house on the map as a local icon, Ms Schellnack said the statues were unlikely to be there for much longer.
“They are not included in the sale and because they mean so much to the sellers, they will be taking them,” she said.
“Obviously if the buyer wanted one, I’m sure something could be worked out.”
The incredible work has also captivated the attention of eager house hunters with Ms Schellnack having already handled over 100 inquires.

“Surprising we are finding a lot of couples in their late 20s are interested as they see it as a stepping stone into an acreage,” she said.
Listed for sale via private treaty, Ms Schellnack expects the property to sell in the mid to high $1m range. The real estate agent said the price point is very attractive.
“You are doing very well to get a property of this size and this close to Sydney for under $2m,” she said.
The property has been built from the ground up by the sellers. There are two houses with seven bedrooms between them, multiple sheds, a dam and phase three power.
There is also a dirt track at the rear of the property that can be used by dirt bikes or horses.
Ms Schellnack said having two houses would allow the new owner the potential to earn income on the additional property by renting it out.
