Kevin Feige Says ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ Will Be Special

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige says that the upcoming film, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be a very special movie.

Back in 2018, Black Panther became one of the highest-grossing films of all time in the United States and was one of the best-reviewed superhero films ever made. It would also go on to become the first superhero film to be nominated for Best Picture and is generally considered to be one of the best films in the Marvel canon. Sadly tragedy struck before the second film could enter production.

On August 28th, 2020 lead actor Chadwick Boseman died after four year battle with colon cancer. The news came as a shock as the Black Panther star had only informed a small number of people about his illness and even fewer still knew just how severe it was. This did leave the future of the Black Panther franchise in question and many have wondered just how it would continue without Boseman in the lead role. While we still do not have answers to these questions, producer Kevin Feige thinks that what they are putting together will be a special experience.

While speaking to Rotten Tomatoes, Keven Feige spoke briefly about Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. He didn’t reveal what the film would be about but seemed to think that the writers behind the film did incredible things with the script:

“And I will say that Ryan and our producer, Nate Moore, and the entire cast, and our co-writer Joe Robert Cole, have done some remarkable things in the story and the draft. The team is assembling once again and cameras roll in the not-too-distant future on that. And it will be extremely emotional across the board, but I think they have something very special in mind.”
