Keilor East classic brick home’s total transformation: Before and afters
Two tradie brothers have completely transformed a retro brick home from the 1970s into an ultra-modern family pad, doubling the property’s value in the process.
Doni, 36, and Oni Barolli, 38 purchased the Keilor East house in 2019 with plans to flip it after being drawn to its “rock solid” foundations.
The fully renovated five-bedroom residence at 2 St Bernards Drive has hit the market with $1.68-$1.78m price hopes.

Keilor East mansion sold after 600 days on the market
CoreLogic records show the siblings initially paid $840,000 for the once-dated pad.
But after less than a year of renovations, “blood, sweat and tears”, the renewed luxury home is back on the market.
Mr Barolli – who has his own construction company, Lion Property Solutions – said the siblings designed and worked on the property themselves throughout lockdown.
“I’m a bit of a jack of all trades and my brother is a carpenter, so once restrictions kicked in it was a good chance for us to focus on the project,” he said.
“My brother and I have always done things together in business and we’ve done some smaller renovations before, but we just had a vision for this one and went for it.”
He said the home’s free-flowing living spaces and outdoor dining area with a barbecue kitchen were just some of the property’s highlights.
“We’ve put a lot of thought and effort into it and I wish I could live in it, but now it’s on to the next,” Mr Barolli said.
He said the property was unrecognisable after the extensive makeover, having redone the home’s facade and replaced the interior’s original vintage wallpaper and printed carpets with timber flooring, crisp white walls and monochrome finishes.

Barry Plant Moonee Valley’s Natalie Drazic said the new additions to the property were “second to none”.
“The kitchen now has all marble finishes and Bosch appliances,” Ms Drazic said.
An electric fireplace, brick feature walls, dimmable downlights and an outdoor water feature were other design drawcards.
Ms Drazic said the house was also within some of the area’s best parklands, shops and premium schooling.
“It’s the most prestigious pocket in Keilor East,” she said.
The property is set for auction February 13.
