James Gunn Is Working With Taika Waititi On ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’
James Gunn and Taika Waititi are teaming up for Thor 4!
James Gunn confirmed that he is helping director Taika Waititi on Thor: Love and Thunder since the Guardians of the Galaxy are set to appear in the sequel.
The first two Guardians of the Galaxy films from James Gunn were pretty standalone in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but that all changed when Thor encountered the Guardians in Avengers: Infinity War. At the end of Endgame, Thor joined the Guardians of the Galaxy once again in a team-up that will continue in Taika Waititi’s Love and Thunder.
Thor: Love and Thunder is now filming in Australia, with several Guardians of the Galaxy stars like Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, and Karen Gillen reporting to set. Thor: Love and Thunder is expected to be on the level of an Avengers film in terms of scope, but it’s unclear how big of a role the Guardians of the Galaxy will play in the upcoming feature. Regardless of their role, James Gunn is heavily involved with any Marvel Studios project the Guardians of the Galaxy appear in, and he confirmed on Twitter that he is consulting with Taika Waititi on Thor 4:
Yes. Have been doing. They’re in great hands with @TaikaWaititi. https://t.co/AtGv7OQJkw
