‘Ironheart’ Star Dominique Thorne Wants To Fight Robert Downey Jr. As Doctor Doom

Could Ironheart survive the wrath of Doctor Doom? Dominique Thorne reveals her hope to clash with Robert Downey Jr. on the big screen.

Ironheart is coming at a weird time in the MCU. Despite being inspired by Iron Man, Dominique Thorne’s character was introduced only after Tony Stark was long dead. However, with Robert Downey Jr. now officially set to come back to the MCU as Doctor Doom, Thorne hopes this could be her chance to meet the iconic star, and maybe even get a few punches in!

“I mean, who wouldn’t, right?” Thorne told Rotten Tomatoes. “I think that’s again one of the great things about the MCU is that right when you think, ‘Oh, we’ve seen it all,’ there is indeed more. And not only is there more, but it’s more with so much depth to it. And so I know everybody, like, we’re all already beside ourselves thinking about what that even looks like. And so, of course, I mean, I think we probably all do.”

It would certainly be interesting to see Dominique Thorne face off against Robert Downey Jr. in a clash of the old versus new versions of Iron Man. It’s still unclear exactly how Downey will bring Doctor Doom into the MCU. Especially since Ironheart appears to be more of a street level character, he may be way above her paygrade. However, he may not be above teaming up with her villains.

Anthony Ramos Wants A Doctor Doom Team-Up

While Dominique Thorne is playing the hero in Ironheart, Anthony Ramos is taking on the role of the villain as The Hood. It seems he also wants a piece of Doctor Doom. Or at least, enough of a piece that he gets to work with Robert Downey Jr. in a movie! Ramos chimed in that he think his villain would love to work with the upcoming Iron Man variant.

“I’m just trying to team up with Doctor Doom,” Ramos explained in the same video. “Just want to team up. We can be teammates, partners.”

If it’s not likely that Dominique Thorne will fight Doctor Doom, there’s almost zero chance that Anthony Ramos would team up with him as The Hood. However, given how little fans actually know about Ironheart, it could lead to any number of futures in the MCU. Let’s just hope the show actually comes out one day so those paths can be realized!
