Grovedale outdoor entertainment area wins over younger buyers
An impressive outdoor entertainment area that paves the way for year-round gatherings proved its worth as a popular Grovedale house sold at auction.
The three-bedroom cottage style home at 17 Cadarga Court was snapped up for $860,000, more than $110,000 above reserve.
Four bidders made a play for the 675sq m property, which eclipsed the vendor’s expectation with the opening $750,000 bid.

Hayeswinckle, East Geelong agent Yan Lin said the large indoor-outdoor room with airconditioning was a hit with younger buyers.
“The majority were young professional couples with no kids,” Ms Lin said.
“I think it was the outdoor area, for someone who loves to party you can have people come to the house and have a space that can be enclosed with airconditioning.
“Also, the location — it’s a court with all owner occupiers and the all kids, it’s pretty safe.”
The two-storey house has a flexible floorplan with dual living areas, walk-in wardrobes to all three bedrooms and a study nook.
There’s also a second open-air outdoor entertainment area should the enclosed room not provide enough space.
Ms Lin said she had been overwhelmed with the level of interest in the property and adjusted the price guide up early on after 40 groups of people inspected the house during the first week of the campaign.
