The La Sabbia penthouse at 28/74-86 Old Burleigh Rd, Surfers Paradise has sold in an $11.5m deal.

A jaw-dropping three-level Gold Coast penthouse with a rooftop pool “in the sky” has sold in an $11.5m mega deal.

The La Sabbia penthouse in Surfers Paradise was on the market through Tolemy Stevens of Coastal, who managed to find an interstate buyer.

“This astute family are going to utilise this penthouse as their new coastal holiday home,” Mr Stevens said.

It is the Coast’s second highest sale of 2025 so far — the highest is a riverfront mansion on Monaco St, Broadbeach Waters that sold last month for $15.51m.

Mr Stevens said La Sabbia was one of the most exclusive and highly regarded buildings on the Gold Coast.

“It is strictly residential only and situated right on the sand,” he said.

“Over the past 26 years it has been a haven for high net worth individuals and families from around the world who either permanently reside here or use the residences as holiday homes.”

“Over the last few years is was stripped back to the concrete shell with the vendors embarking on a multimillion dollar high-end renovation with the finest fixtures and fittings,” Mr Stevens said.

“In essence this is a brand new penthouse.”

The main bedroom, described as an “indulgent sanctuary” has a dressing room, built-in day bed and ocean view balcony.

But it is the rooftop that is the real star of the show with an internal lounge, bar and pizza oven that opens to the terrace, mosaic-tiled plunge pool and elevated spa.

La Sabbia amenities includes tennis court, two pools, spa, infra-red sauna, gym, lounge and barbecue area.

What a view!

Mr Stevens said the Gold Coast’s prestige market was continuing to fire.

“In the 20 years that I have been specialising in luxury beachfront real estate I have never seen the Gold Coast as popular as it is right now,” he said.

“We are really starting to see a large volume of interstate buyers particularly from Sydney and Melbourne identify the Gold Coast as a very safe place to invest their money or to relocate here to live an amazing lifestyle and work remotely.”

“More and more buyers are wanting to come and enjoy the sun, sand and surf and this is just another example of a fantastic sale that has occurred.”
