Gold Coast A-lister agents Alex and Victoria Fleri to build Covid-inspired home
A-LIST agents Alex and Victoria Fleri, who find prestige properties for Hollywood stars, are embarking on a property project of their own in 2022.
The couple, who work for Amir Prestige, plan to build a Covid-proof waterfront mansion on a block of land they bought in Sorrento for $700,000 in 2013.
The celebrity couple recently sold their three-story, five-bedroom house at 6 Costa Court, Broadbeach Waters, for $2.32 million, so they could embark on their ambitious new project.
The Fleris, who run a building company in between shooting for the silver screen and selling luxury property, said plans for the contemporary new-build were still being finalised, with the luxury six-bedroom, five-bathroom home on a 797sq m block designed for living in a Covid-affected world.
“This design is unique in the sense that we have taken into account the lessons learned from Covid lockdowns,” Ms Fleri said.
“For example, we’ve incorporated an area for home conference calls to be set-up properly and even a lounge/home schooling section should more ‘lock downs’ occur,” she said.
“We’ve also come up with a design that allows for a large upstairs balcony to be sectioned off from adjoining rooms to create isolation spaces with fresh air areas, should someone in the house need to quarantine.”
The Covid-proof home will not be the first house the Fleris have built. The couple also created “Athena”, the property they just sold in Broadbeach Waters after buying a knockdown in 2017 for $800,000 and turning it into a tri-level, luxury mansion.
Ms Fleri said that when the new house is completed, “I imagine the usual argument will happen between myself and Alex. I’ll want to live in it and enjoy it, and he’ll want to sell it and move on to the next one.”
That conversation may not be too far off, according to Mr Fleri.
“We are just finalising the engineering drawings at the moment and then it will be full steam ahead.
“As much as I love being on the tools myself, when we build I think this one will need to fit into our busy real estate schedule and our movie filming.”
The Fleris handle multimillions residential sales on the Gold Coast each year and are currently marketing one of Queensland’s most expensive properties, Bellagio La Villa in Tallebudgera.
While Mr Fleri couldn’t give too much away, he said he had an “episodic role in a leading US series that is shooting now in Australia”.
The couple are also soon to start shooting their first film under the banner of SOS Productions, the company they set up last year.
The surfing-inspired film set on the Gold Coast and called Sons of Summer is a sequel to the 1977 Australian drama thriller Summer City, which was Mel Gibson’s first movie.
“We have got some amazing A-lister talent signing onto the project right now; the main producers have some exciting things happening behind the scenes in the next few weeks,” Mr Fleri said.
