We love DIN rail. It’s cheap, rugged and consistent and it’s great to see that it’s breaking out from just electrical installation use and getting used in all kinds of projects. The DINPi RACK makes it really simple to use a Raspberry Pi, or similar single-board computers and expansion HATs or pHATs on DIN rail.
It’s a beautifully made PCB with neat routing and a black soldermask finish. There is a main mount point for a Raspberry Pi and it’s compatible with all the 40-pin Pi variants. Your Pi or other SBC is securely clamped on via the mount holes and the 40-pin header is broken out across the PCB to a neatly labelled set of pin headers. The keen-eyed among you will notice that it’s broken out into two identical sets of vertical pin headers as well as a set of right-angle headers at the right-hand side of the PCB. This gives you all the possibilities to mount additional HATs or pHATs as well as the option to connect directly to a neighbouring device on the DIN rail.
The DINPi itself mounts to the DIN rail via standard DIN rail mounts which you may already have in your collection; if not, they are available in the product options. If you only want to DIN mount a Pi or you want more flexibility in positioning HATs on a DIN rail check out the PlasmaDan store for other options.
