Creswick ‘Peaceful’ bush retreat for sale north of Ballarat
The listing for this energy-efficient retreat north of Ballarat borrows a line from The Castle: “It’s the vibe.”
But “how’s the serenity?” is as apt, given much of the 4722sq m block at 52 Gardiner St, Creswick, is bushland.
“When you look down (from the back porch), all of that bushland is on the block,” Harcourts Ballarat’s Mark Vorstenbosch said.

He added: “You can’t have that view built out.
“There’s a real peaceful, tranquil feeling when you’re there.”
The property is set to be auctioned on March 5 – an unusual way to sell a property in Creswick – with a $780,000-$820,000 price guide.
Mr Vorstenbosch said the vendors built the three-bedroom house, only recently completing it, to have high BAL (bushfire attack level) 29 and 8.2-star energy ratings.
Double-glazed windows, a high level of insulation and solar panels helped keep the house’s temperature “comfortable in winter and summer”, the agent said.
Ceilings up to 3.88m tall made the home feel ”bigger than the floorplan looks”, and expansive windows frame gorgeous bush views.
Mr Vorstenbosch said the one-of-a-kind home was less than a five-minute drive to the town of Creswick, and near St Georges Lake and the RACV Goldfields Resort Golf Course.
“If you had a golf buggy, you’d be able to cut across to the course,” he said.
“It really is bush meets the town.”
He expected the offering to appeal to both permanent home buyers and those looking for a “special” weekender.
