Coast’s quirkiest multimillion dollar properties launch fresh push to sell

This retro-fantastic mansion at Riverbend Avenue, Carrara has been on the market for more than 20 years — is the time finally right to find a buyer?

THEY are real estate’s unicorns — one-of-a-kind properties that have spent years on the market, waiting for that one magical buyer to claim their prize.

And now the vendors of these three vastly different but equally distinct Coast properties are trying their luck again, hopeful unprecedented market conditions are ripe to finally secure a sale.

The sprawling property on 4.3 acres at 8-16 Riverbend Avenue is owned by reclusive mutli-millionaire and former Cable Ski World owner, Otto Pfeiffer

A retro-fantastic mansion at 8-16 Riverbend Avenue, Carrara has been re-listed with a hefty new price tag of $17m, having spent more than 20 years on the market without achieving a sale. It first hit the market in 2007 and has been subject to multiple marketing campaigns since.

The outlandish six-bedroom property is owned by reclusive multi-millionaire and former Cable Ski World Otto Pfeiffer and comprises a house and two units over 4.3 acres fronting Nerang River.

Mr Pfeiffer has launched a fresh push to sell his wacky Coast abode and relocate to north Queensland.

Marketing agent Larry Brown, of At Realty, said Carrara’s original mansion was frequented by celebrities and even used as a set for adult films in its heyday, but was now in need of, “a little TLC”.

“The owner is relocating north; he knows the market is really jumping away in leaps and bounds and he feels at the moment it is is a really good opportunity to achieve a sale,” Mr Brown said.

The owner of this sky-home at Chevron Renaissance hopes to tap the current appetite for sprawling apartments and penthouses.

Also new to market is an opulent 561sqm penthouse in Surfers Paradise’s iconic Chevron Renaissance building featuring authentic Versace furniture. It’s for sale via an expressions of interest campaign by Emil Juresic and Rachael Savic of NGU Real Estate.

Offers above $5m are sought for the extravagant apartment at 2481/23 Ferny Avenue, which was bought off the plan in 2007 by retirement village developer Peter Puljich.

The owner is open to negotiating on a price to include the original Versace furniture with sale of the penthouse.

It was previously listed in 2017 and 2018 but failed to sell.

“With any specific property that is put on the market I think the timing is very critical,” Mr Juresic said.

“This was on the market about three years ago but I don’t think there was as big an appetite for whole-floor apartments or penthouses as we are seeing now.”

The ocean-view penthouse also has a private rooftop pool and a soundproof cinema with a bar.

The penthouse has three bedrooms including a lavish master suite with spa, as well as a private mosaic tiled swimming pool and soundproof cinema with bar.

Penthouse owner Peter Puljich is a retirement village developer.

And Mount Tamborine-based entrepreneur Andre Jaworski has just launched a fresh pitch to sell The Bavarian Grill and Brewery for $4.8m through Thomas Clark of Ray White Commercial.

The sprawling property on 2.08ha at 154-172 Main Western Road was listed in 2018 but is still in the hands of its enterprising owner, who purchased an avocado farm in 2002 and built a range of venues and attractions at the site.

Last beers could finally be called at the Bavarian Grill Haus for sale on Mount Tamborine.

They include the Red Baron Brewery, Red Baron cellar door and beer hall function centre, and a wedding chapel. A five-bedroom house and one-bedroom unit on the property are also included in the sale.

Mr Clark said the owner was in poor health and motivated to sell.
