Brisbane auctions: Watch live as these hot homes go under the hammer
IT’S chilly out there, but the Brisbane auction market is hotter than ever.
Around 80 homes are set to go under the hammer across the city on Saturday as auction campaigns are halved and auctioneers scramble to keep up with the frenzy.
The Courier-Mail will be there to bring you all the action live with a picture perfect, renovated Queenslander on a double lot in Indooroopilly first out of the blocks.

The five-bedroom, three-bathroom house at 31 Gladstone Street will go under the hammer at 10am, but owner Leesa Curtain will likely be out walking her Insta-famous labradoodle.
Teddy has more than 4000 Instagram followers and appears in many of the marketing photos for the home.
“He has gained a few more followers (since the property listed),” Mrs Curtain said. “I’ve had to specify that he’s not included in the sale!”
Mrs Curtain said she was excited and nervous about her home of 12 years going to auction.
The property is one of an increasing number of Brisbane homes going to auction after a short marketing campaign of three weeks — or even less.
“I’d prefer not to drag it out to the usual six weeks,” Mrs Curtain said.
“I think the market’s good enough that if (buyers) like it, they want to buy it. I think it’s good for the buyer and good for us.”
Ann-Karyn Fraser of Place – New Farm, who is marketing the home, said shorter auction campaigns — from six weeks down to three weeks — were becoming the norm.
“You have so many buyers who are ready to go now —cash unconditional — who may have missed a few the weekend before, so they want it short and tight to keep rolling with their decision process,” Ms Fraser said.
She said the property at 31 Gladstone Street attracted 200 people during its first open home, with interest coming from expats, interstate buyers and locals.
Also going to auction at 10am on Saturday is the former investment property of Olympic swimmer Emily Seebohm.
The three-bedroom property at 36 Flemington Street in Hendra was used by Ms Seebohm as a savvy investment in very high demand suburb.
She sold the Flemington Street property for $790,000 in May 2019 — which was $220,000 more than she had paid for it in 2012.
The property has been a good source of rental income, sitting at about $620 a week two years ago.
Over in Hawthorne, a rare, 1022 sqm block of riverfront land at 26 Scott Street with a private jetty and slipway will go under the hammer at 10am.
Marketing agent Ben Cannon of McGrath Estate Agents – Bulimba said six bidders were expected to attend the auction, with interest coming from owner-occupiers and developers.
“It’s one of only 50 blocks in Hawthorne that reach the river,” Mr Cannon said.
“Only 20 of those have the level, easy access to the water of 26 Scott Street.”

We’ll livestream all the action as Place Estate Agents auctioneer Paul Curtain tests the property market from Brisbane’s northwest to the bayside.
