Brie Larson Praises ‘Captain Marvel 2’ Director Nia DaCosta
Brie Larson had some high praise for Candyman director Nia DaCosta who will helm 2022’s Captain Marvel 2.
There’s still over a year to go until Captain Marvel 2 flies into theaters, but Brie Larson recently revealed how excited she is to start working with director Nia DaCosta on the sequel. Not only will the film pick up see the return of Carol Danvers, but it’ll also feature Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau as well as Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan, the star of the Ms. Marvel show heading to Disney Plus. But Brie Larson explained what it was that really impressed her about the director when appearing on A Little Late with Lilly Singh.
According to the Captain Marvel 2 star, Nia DaCosta gave an incredible presentation about her vision for the sequel, but it’s her confidence and leadership which struck a chord with Brie Larson. It’s not clear what the second film will revolve around, but if Captain Marvel, Monica Rambeau and Ms. Marvel are all needed in the fight, it sounds like they’ll be up against something (or someone) formidable. An early rumor about the sequel even suggested it will set up Avengers 5. Take a look at Brie Larson praising Nia DaCosta below.
“It’s amazing, and I’m so excited that it’s announced and I can talk about it. Nia is amazing and she got the job because she is the best person for the job. That’s one of my favorite parts about this. She just gave an incredible presentation and I’m inspired by her. She has confidence and it’s a big deal to step into like, this thing, the Marvel universe, this huge thing! And to have a leader who’s just like ,’Yeah, I’m meant to be here.’”
