Brand-new and never occupied Perth penthouse has strong Manhattan vibes – and a price tag to match
With a minimalist yet industrial chic vibe, this Perth penthouse sits in an exclusive city district and is akin to a palatial home.
The three-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment at 30/82 King Street in the CBD encompasses an impressive 443sqm of opulent living space across two levels.

Ray White Dalkeith Claremont selling agent Thomas Jefferson Wedge said the ophthalmologist owner had never lived in the brand-new abode, which was completed in 2020.
It was listed for sale two years ago but the timing – at the height of the Covid pandemic – meant it failed to sell, Mr Jefferson Wedge explained.
The owner chose not to use it as an exclusive rental, and as a result it has sat vacant since its completion.
“With this home, I would say you have the most exclusive penthouse apartment in Perth and access to the most stunning retreat in the city,” he said.

Mr Jefferson Wedge said there was much to love about the property, which had an oversized floorplan that made it feel like a house in the midst of the city.
Soaring ceilings of up to 4m high, in addition to minimalist stacking sliding doors to two balconies, enhance the feel of space within the residence.

Other features include a library retreat to the main bedroom, 6m long benchtops in the kitchen, woodpecker spotted gum timber floorboards, and lift access. Two 52” televisions are included in the sale.
And it boasts plenty of unique character.

Set within the Heritage Wills Building, the City of Perth has included it in its Heritage Register, in addition to the wider King Street precinct.
A City of Perth spokesperson said the building’s “aesthetic and historic significance is an example of commercial warehouse architecture from 1924”. Its associations with the historical King Street clothing and fashion industry add an extra special layer, the spokesperson said.

In 2003, the Heritage Wills Building was transformed from a warehouse to a multi-storey apartment complex by Scanlan Architects.
“Wills Apartment development rejuvenated two existing vacant buildings, previously used as multi-level warehousing, into a residential apartment block incorporating 33 loft-style apartments,” the spokesperson said.

“The New York-style service lift was retained and restored, as were many of the original steel windows featured on the Wellington Street façade.” The penthouse is priced in the mid to high $4 million range. All offers are to be presented by 15 August.
