Book hangover

A book hangover is described as “a condition in which an attachment to a book or series that has ended causes the reader traumatic emotional distress.” It also mentions that it normally lasts for “one to two weeks or until a new book of higher-than-average quality enters the reader’s life.”

Normally, when I finish a book, I’m eager to get started on the next book. Let’s face it…..I’m a book junkie. Plus, there’s too many books and not enough time to read them. But there have been a few times where I have been affected by the death of a character. For example, when we have the battle of Hogwarts at the end of Deathly Hallows…..there were so many character that died and it was so sad. I didn’t jump right into another book then when I finished Deathly Hallows.

Have you ever experienced a “book hangover” before? If so, how long did it last? How long did it take for you to jump into another book after you’ve finished the previous one?
