In what may be a first for Townsville, and even Australia, a wedge-tailed eagle has featured in a real estate sales video, but it’s all for a good cause.
Rob Levy of Cutting Edge Property has pledged to donate $1000 to local birds of prey rescue, Fight 4 Flight upon the sale of ‘Montpelier Acres’ at 1297 Old Flinders Hwy, Oak Valley.
He also featured wedge-tailed eagle Atlas, an education bird from the charity, in the sales video for the property.
Mr Levy said after meeting Deb Carter, the woman behind Fight 4 Flight, he knew he wanted to support her work and had the idea to have one of her birds star in the ‘Montpelier Acres’ video.
“The property is so big, you need a bird’s eye view to see it all,” he said.
“So, I thought featuring Atlas was a great way to bring attention to the property and to bring attention to a wonderful cause.”

Mr Levy said working with Atlas was an incredible opportunity.
“He’s the only wedgie I’ve ever wanted in my life,” Mr Levy said.
“He was great – it only took three takes to get the part featuring Atlas.
“Having that flesh-ripping beak centimetres from my eyeballs was scary, but it was a cool experience.”
The 41ha property at 1297 Old Flinders Hwy is on the market for offers over $1.29m.
‘Montpelier Acres’ encompasses the summit of a hill and comes with two complete houses, town water, fenced paddocks, solar, water tanks and dam.

The first house is a 1950s Queenslander with two bedrooms, one bathroom, open plan living and dining, kitchen and a separate sitting area.
The second house is a 1970s highset with four bedrooms, one bathroom, open plan living, dining and kitchen, a big deck, granny flat and an in-ground pool.
There is a big shed on the property along with an animal shelter and a horse shed with small tack room.
Mr Levy said he was also planning to donate $1000 to Adopt a Dane in Brisbane upon the sale of a Thornlands home.
He featured Tex, an adoptee from the rescue, in the sales video for the property.
