Bad Bunny Calls El Muerto Role In Spider-Man Spin-Off ‘Epic’

Bad Bunny recently talked more about being cast as El Muerto in the upcoming Spider-Man spin-off film.

At this year’s CinemaCon, Sony revealed El Muerto as the latest project to join their Spider-Man spin-off lineup. The studio also announced the upcoming project would star Bad Bunny, who will show up in Bullet Train later this summer.

In a recent interview on New Music Daily with Zane Lowe, Bad Bunny opened up some more about playing El Muerto. Here’s what the star had to say about joining Sony’s Spider-Man universe:

“It’s crazy. It’s something that I can’t believe it yet. I’m very happy about this character, about this opportunity to be the first Latin [lead]. It’s not about I’m gonna be the first Latino making a role, it’s gonna be about the first Latino main character, is the important thing. So it’s something huge, and it will be epic. I know that people are gonna be proud of my work.”

Before Bad Bunny’s El Muerto enters the Spider-Man universe, here is the synopsis for Sony’s latest Marvel film, Morbius:

One of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Oscar® winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero, Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed and transforms this healer into a hunter.

Directed by Daniel Espinosa from a script written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, Morbius stars Jared Leto, Adria Arjona, Matt Smith, Jared Harris, and Tyrese Gibson. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach produced the project with Lucas Foster, with Palak Patel overseeing it for Sony.

Morbius is now playing in theaters, while Bad Bunny’s El Muerto is slated for January 12, 2024. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news regarding El Muerto, Sony’s expanding Spider-Man universe, and be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
