Ryobi USB Power Supply
It’s become very common for cordless power tools from the same range to now share batteries, which is excellent. We love that people are increasing the usefulness of the battery families they have even more. This battery adaptor turns your Ryobi battery into a capable USB power supply.
The nicely made PCB with spring loaded battery connectors sits in a 3D printed enclosure that clips onto the top of your battery. Of course, standard 5V from the USB socket is the default, but it’s also capable if fast charging modes. It’s compatible with a range of fast charging types, including QC2 and QC3. On the product page there is a broader list of compatible charge protocols.
As a bonus, it mentions that it’s compatible with the TS80, a popular soldering iron and indeed it would make a great power supply for one with up to date firmware or the Ralim opensource firmware installed. That being said, it should also be totally suitable to power the new kid on the block in portable soldering irons, the Ralim-powered Pinecil.
