Will Walton, who is the principal director at Belle Property in Daylesford, said while the town attracts tourists all year round, there’s a certain pull during winter.

“Our tourism cycle is all year as we don’t rely on sun sand or snow, however winter hospitality around an open fire attracts lots of tourists who then potentially become interested in becoming a local resident or even a business owner,” Mr Walton said.

He said heating and cooling is especially important for rentals in the area.

“Due to our extreme warm and cold weather conditions, tenants look at heating, cooling, and general maintenance to ensure properties are well insulated to manage any power bills.”
