New ‘Black Adam’ And ‘Shazam! Fury Of The Gods’ Footage Debuts At CinemaCon

New footage for Black Adam and Shazam! Fury of the Gods debuted at CinemaCon.

Both Shazam and Black Adam had their release dates moved around. Black Adam was originally supposed to debut in early 2022 but was pushed back to October while Shazam! Fury Of The Gods was moved up to December. At this year’s CinemaCon, Warner Bros released new footage for both of these films, showing us what to expect from the former and current Champion of the Gods.

The first footage was for Shazam! Fury of the Gods. According to reports, Billy Batson has a dream that Wonder Woman wants to date him. The footage then moves on to a Fast and Furious joke, when Billy tells Helen Mirren’s character that he’s seen the movies and that saving the world is about family. Then the rest of his family shows up, presumably to fight her.

At the end of the panel, the trailer for Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam was shown for the first time. The trailer has him saying that he died as a slave and was reborn as a god. He declares that despite heroes not killing people, he does. The trailer ends with him catching a rocket as it explodes in his hands.

Directed by David F. Sandberg, Shazam! Fury Of the Gods stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans, Adam Brody, Lucy Liu, Meagan Good, Ross Butler, D.J. Cotrona, and Helen Mirren.

Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, Black Adam stars Dwayne Johnson as the titular anti-hero, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, and Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate. Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, James Cusati-Moyer, and Bodhi Sabongui are also on board in undisclosed roles.

Black Adam is set to hit theaters on October 22nd, 2022 while Shazam! Fury of the Gods will debut on December 16, 2022. Stay tuned for more updates on the two movies!
