Dual-Color Golden Ratio LED Earrings
If you’d like to augment your earlobes with a bit of electro-scientific bling, then these Golden Ratio LED earrings by California STEAM may be just the thing. Controlled by an ATtiny 416, and powered by a pair of size 13 zinc-air hearing aid batteries, these spiral devices can flash away in green and red for over 300 hours.
Each device has 27 dual-color LED units (54 individual diodes) that flash away via a 6×12 matrix setup. These are standard non-addressable LED units, so the 6 anodes are connected to PWM outputs for brightness variation, while the cathodes are connected to 12 digital pins. The setup could control up to 72 LEDs, but the 27/54 pixel light-up configuration should be sufficiently bright and sparkly for any occasion!
A push-button on the back is used as an interface, allowing one to change between 6 different patterns and 5 color modes.
