‘Black Adam’: Dwayne Johnson & Marvel’s Kevin Feige Have ‘Flirted Around’ Potential Ideas

Black Adam star Dwayne Johnson and Marvel Studio President Kevin Feige have “flirted around a few ideas”.

Ask anyone who they think the biggest movie star on the planet is right now and most would say Dwayne Johnson. Johnson began his career as a wrestler but successfully pivoted to acting with hits like Fast Five, Skyscraper, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, and Moana under his belt. The only thing missing from Johnson’s extensive filmography was a superhero project but the star recently wrapped up production on DC’s Black Adam, a role he has been attached to for nearly a decade.

While Black Adam is all set to hit cinemas next year and be the start of a franchise, Dwayne Johnson has kept in touch with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige. Hiram Garcia, the President of Production for Seven Bucks Production – Dwayne Johnson’s production company – revealed in a recent interview with Collider that the former WWE star has a great relationship with Feige. Garcia also mentioned that Johnson and Feige have considered working together on a potential project but Black Adam will always get priority in the grander scheme of things.

“DJ and Kevin Feige have a great relationship and we’ve flirted around a few ideas before, but nothing serious. There’s a mutual admiration for what we each have been doing and what Kevin has built over there is truly incredible. Ultimately though for us, we’ve always been very committed to what we wanted to build with Black Adam. Black Adam was the character we wanted to bring to life and who we felt DJ was destined to play. Once we set our sites on this character over a decade ago it was hard to imagine DJ playing anyone else.
