Our first official look at Godzilla Vs. Kong and Space Jam 2 is here.

A new promotional video for the HBO Max streaming service reveals footage from Godzilla vs Kong and Space Jam: A New Legacy.

WarnerMedia is using a hybrid-release model for its 2021 Warner Bros. titles, with the company dropping them in theaters and its streaming service HBO Max at the same time. A newly-released promotional video shows off some of the most anticipated projects coming to HBO Max this year, including Godzilla vs Kong and Space Jam: A New Legacy.

The HBO Max promo shows off never-before-seen footage of Godzilla and King Kong duking it out while offering a first look at the LeBron James starrer Space Jam: A New Legacy, the long-awaited sequel to the 1996 classic with Michael Jordan. It also includes footage of other upcoming projects like The Suicide Squad and Mortal Kombat. Check it out below.

Released in 1996, the original Space Jam film told the story of the Looney Tunes’ efforts to win a basketball competition after the beloved cartoon characters challenge alien invaders to a game in order to secure their freedom. However, the aliens steal the talent of professional basketball players and transform into the dreaded Monstars, prompting the Looney Tunes to recruit Michael Jordan onto their team. LeBron James is expected to play a similar role in the Space Jam sequel, which arrives in theaters and on HBO Max on July 16th.

Meanwhile, Godzilla vs Kong is the culmination of three films in Legendary’s  MonsterVerse franchise that began with Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla in 2014. It was followed by the Jordan Vogt-Roberts-directed Kong: Skull Island, which established the shared cinematic universe. In 2019, Michael Doughterty’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters continued the series, with more nods to the MonsterVerse including King Kong’s existence. Godzilla vs Kong is set to released on March 26th.
