UFC on ABC: Max Holloway vs. Calvin Kattar time, TV channel, live stream for Fight Island 7
The UFC returns for its first event of 2021 on Saturday night with UFC on ABC from the Flash Forum on Fight Island in Abu Dhabi. For the MMA promotion’s return to network television for the first time in two years, former UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway will square off with rising talent Calvin Katar in the main event. It kicks off a Fight Island triple header that will culminate with UFC 257: McGregor vs. Poirier on January 23.
Holloway returns to action after a pair of controversial losses to Alexander Volkanovski. The former 145-pound champion aims to put himself right back in line for a title fight, but he first has to turn back the challenge of the surging Kattar.
The No. 6 ranked Kattar is looking to win his third straight fight and faces arguably his toughest challenge against the former champion. He heads into this fight with wins over Dan Ige and Jeremy Stephens. A win over Holloway would likely set him up for title opportunity.
In the co-main event, a battle of long-tenured UFC fighters takes place as Carlos Condit and Matt Brown will battle in a long-overdue welterweight showdown over a decade in the making.
