Crispy Pork Belly Chips
Who doesn’t enjoy a bag of chips every now and then? These make for a versatile snack that’s easy to eat, and are just as easy on the taste buds. But imagine if you could enhance your bowl of chips further, and add an irresistible factor of meatiness and savor. The answer to those tasty wonders lies in these Crispy Pork Belly Chips!
So crispy that you can hear that crunch in one bite, these are similar to your favorite chicharon, but they more closely resemble chips. Another great thing about this recipe is that it utilizes the air fryer. With this, you get to have all the fun of a delicious bowl of pork belly chips but with considerably less oil!
Go ahead and try making some Crispy Pork Belly Chips to snack on later!
Begin by taking 1 ½ lbs. of pork belly, 6 cups of water, 1 teaspoon of whole peppercorn, and 3 pieces of dried bay leaves, and placing them in a cooking pot. Then cover your pot, and wait for it to boil. Once it does, start adjusting your heat between low and medium. And let this boil for 1 hour more, after which we can start working on cutting our pork.
Take the pork belly out of the pot, and wait for it to cool. Now you can go ahead and make thin slices out of these, resembling chips. But you also have the option of freezing the pork belly for 1 ½ hours before you start slicing, as this can keep your meat hardened and stable while cutting. I do this usually for an easier method of cutting.
Now put together your 3 tablespoons of Knorr Liquid Seasoning and slices of pork from earlier. Mix these together thoroughly, and then get ready to start air-frying. Put your sliced pork inside the air fryer and arrange these properly. Then set it to 350 °F, and time it for 20 minutes of air frying, or until you get your pork to the ideal crunchy texture.
As you are cooking this in your air frying, also flip your pork slices to have all sides fried evenly. After you’ve gotten your pork beautifully crisp, feel free to take them out of the air fryer, and place them on your plate. Make sure to have these with spicy vinegar dipping sauce. They go perfectly with your savory, crisp pork belly chips!

Crispy Pork Belly Chips
Thinly sliced pork belly that were air fried until crispy.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ lbs. pork belly
- 3 tablespoons Knorr Liquid Seasoning
- 6 cups water
- 3 pieces dried bay leaves
- 1 teaspoon whole peppercorn
Instructions
-
Combine pork belly, water, whole peppercorn, and dried bay leaves in a cooking pot. Cover the pot and let it boil. Adjust heat between low and medium. Continue boiling for 60 minutes.

Remove pork from the pot. Let it cool down. Slice into thin pieces. Note: I usually freeze the pork for 1 ½ hours before slicing it. This method will harden the meat and fat by a bit. It helps prevent the meat from wobbling when sliced.
-
Combine sliced pork and Knorr Liquid Seasoning. Mix well.
-
Arrange pork on an air fryer. Set the air fryer to 350F and air fry for 20 minutes or until pork becomes crispy. Note: Make sure to flip the pork slices in the middle of the cooking process. This will ensure that both sides are cooked properly.
