‘Worst House on the Street’ in Florida Is the Week’s Most Popular Home

A brutal—and hilarious—listing description catapulted a decrepit Florida home to the top spot on this week’s most popular homes on realtor.com®.

We’ve read through a bajillion listing descriptions over the years. They’re almost always reserved for a cheery assessment of the delightful features a home has to offer.

However, an agent in Florida decided to zig while everyone else was zagging, and this $69,000 home is described as “literally the worst house on the street.” The details get worse from there.

The agent’s brutal honesty resonated with folks on Twitter, and the home racked up hundreds of thousands of page views.

We suggest you check this place out before it’s razed. Its humorous description paid off as a marketing strategy—there’s already an offer for the forlorn property.

Beyond the dump in Florida, you also clicked on a few fancier dwellings. The most expensive listing in the states of Virginia and Louisiana garnered plenty of attention.

The Jersey Shore mansion of actor Joe Pesci popped in popularity, although it’s been on the market for a while.

Why it’s here: The listing description isn’t trying to sugarcoat the condition of this decrepit heap, which was built in 1954. In fact, it’s practically daring you to buy the place.
