Geelong waterfront apartment attracts premium at auction
Buyers have a paid a premium to get their hands on waterfront apartment in one of Geelong’s original residential towers.
The three-bedroom apartment in the Promenade complex sold to a Belmont buyer for $1.46m at auction.
McGrath, Geelong agent David Cortous said three bidders contested 302/110 Brougham Street, Geelong, pushing the price above $1.3m-$1.4m price hopes.

“Traditionally apartments have been that hard to auction … it shows the strength of the market that it sold at that level,” Mr Cortous said.
The third-level apartment is directly across parkland from the Royal Geelong Yacht Club and offers north-facing bay views from the main bedroom and large deck.
Space is not compromised in a floorplan that includes a home office, two bathrooms plus a powder room and a laundry.

The designer kitchen is fitted with marble benchtops, a glass splashback and high-end European appliances.
Mr Cortous said the quality of the Promenade complex had stood the test of time.
“It’s still the premier apartments in Geelong because of sheer size of them,” he said.
“They were built for owner occupiers and they have three bedrooms plus a study and a double garage in the basement.
“There is only a couple in Geelong that have that.”
