Wayne Rooney reveals what he ‘likes’ about Man Utd boss Ruben Amorim

Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has spoken highly of manager Ruben Amorim as the club navigates a difficult season.
While results have not gone United’s way, Rooney believes Amorim has shown promising qualities that could help turn things around at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils have struggled for consistency, leading to criticism from fans and pundits.
However, Rooney is backing Amorim to get things right, urging the players to take more responsibility as they fight for a strong finish to the campaign.
Rooney backs Amorim despite tough season
Rooney, who remains United’s all-time top scorer, praised Amorim’s approach and communication skills. Speaking to the club’s official website, he said:
“It’s been a difficult season, there’s no denying that, all season. But the new manager has come in, and I really like him. The way he handles himself and speaks with the media, he’s been really good. It’s probably more about getting through this season now and, hopefully, starting to implement his style more and getting players in to move the club forward.”
United’s struggles this season have raised questions about the squad’s mentality and ability to adapt to Amorim’s tactics. Rooney believes that while the manager is laying the right foundation, the players must step up to match his ambitions.
He also singled out Amad Diallo for praise, revealing that he once tried to sign the Ivorian winger during his time as Derby County manager.
“I think he’s been great. I tried to sign him for Derby when I was at Derby on loan. I thought I had him, really. I think it was the next day that he went to Rangers out of the blue. He has been fantastic, with the goals he’s scored, [his] creativity and work-rate. He’s been a breath of fresh air, and, of course, we’d like a few more players to step up.”
Amorim’s side will look to bounce back as they face Real Sociedad in their crucial Europa League second-leg clash, whit the first one ending in a 1-1 draw.
With a top-four finish in the Premier League also looking impossible, the pressure remains on both the manager and the players to deliver and somehow get their hands on the Europa League trophy.
