National insider shares firm belief on Razorbacks head football coach Sam Pittman’s future with Arkansas
247Sports’ Brandon Marcello has some sad, disheartening news for the Arkansas fans who had it up to here with Razorbacks head football coach Sam Pittman: he’s not going anywhere anytime soon.
“As of this moment, nothing’s gonna happen. Sam Pittman will be the head coach at Arkansas in 2025 if they beat Louisiana Tech and/or Missouri. They get to a bowl game,” Marcello said (h/t FanSided).
“Arkansas is in a state right now where they need some consistency, some stability there. And if you are to make a change and fire Sam Pittman, and then we got to start all again. You bring someone in, I think too many people out there have fallen in love with the idea that there are a dime and a dozen Curt Cignettis and Deion Sanders out there. They’re not. I don’t believe that the cure for Arkansas is to make a change right now. I think it’s to keep some stability.”
Sam Pittman boosting Arkansas’s NIL is the only way out
Marcello further pointed out how boosting NIL collectives among the Hogs will help Pittman create a thriving culture, flipping the narrative when he was talking about Cignetti and Sanders.
It will be a tough job, but things are steadily getting better for Pittman.
“The NIL situation at Arkansas, we’re told, is also improving, which helps Pittman’s cause,” Marcello added in another interview.
Taylen Green, who is ranked No. 43 in On3’s College Football NIL, currently has the highest-ranked NIL valuation — boasting signings with industry giants like EA Sports and Fletcher Auto Groups.
Improving NIL can end up in two ways for Pittman: either he improved the NIL with his records at Arkansas and he stays, or he just improves the NIL and not the records and leaves with a resume that has NIL as a strong suit.
