‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Rumor Reveals Scrapped Plans For Tom Holland’s Spider-Man
Could Spider-Man have been in Daredevil: Born Again? A new rumor reveals the disappointing fate of Tom Holland’s cameo as the beloved webhead.
Ever since Charlie Cox made his MCU debut in Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans have been speculating whether or not Tom Holland would make his way into Daredevil: Born Again. While Holland was nowhere to be found during filming of the first season, a creative team with full control over season 2 gave fans hope he may appear in the upcoming production.
It seems fans were, for once, close to getting their wish. According to scooper MyTimeToShineHello, there were plans for Tom Holland to appear in Daredevil: Born Again. However, the cameo was ultimately scrapped at the request of Sony, who reportedly only wants Spider-Man to appear in massive projects like the Avengers films.
How Tom Holland’s Cut Cameo Changes Spider-Man’s Future
To most, the Tom Holland not making a cameo in Daredevil: Born Again mostly amounts to a disappointing “What if?” However, the decision could have major impacts on the character’s storyline in the MCU. Early rumors for the plot of Spider-Man 4 suggested that the project would focus on the street level escapades of the hero, with Kingpin being a primary focus as the villain.
Luckily, Marvel may have more time to rectify their plans than previously expected. Prior to news breaking that Tom Holland’s cameo in Daredevil: Born Again was cut, a separate report revealed that the studio is changing course with Spider-Man 4, instead focusing on a multiverse story revolving around Knull and the Venom symbiote. While some may be disappointed by this change in plans, it certainly allows the studio to take their time in giving Spider-Man his long-awaited return to the streets of New York City.
