James Gunn Provides Update On DC’s Wonder Woman Prequel Series Paradise Lost

Is Wonder Woman finally on her way to the DC Universe? James Gunn gives fans an update on the upcoming Paradise Lost series.

A lot of exciting progress has been made on the upcoming DC Universe reboot, with James Gunn staring post-production on Superman and The Batman‘s Elseworld sequel ramping up for production. However, it seems one member of the trinity has been largely absent from recent developments: Wonder Woman. While it’s confirmed that her homeland of Themyscira will return in the upcoming Paradise Lost series, almost no information is available about it.

This has led many to worry that James Gunn’s plans for Paradise Lost have been derailed. Or, worse, that there are currently no plans for Wonder Woman in the new DC Universe. This was debunked by Gunn himself when asked in a recent Threads post, giving a curt “Yes” when asked about if progress was being made on the highly anticipated project.

Everything Fans Know About Paradise Lost

Luckily, due to being one of the earliest projects announced for the DC Universe by James Gunn, there are some details that have come out about Paradise Lost. While it’s unclear if Wonder Woman herself will appear in the series, it will tie heavily into the mythos of her character and the island of Themyscira. The project is also said to have very clear influences from Game of Thrones.

While not for Paradise Lost, James Gunn has cast Anya Chalotra as the Wonder Woman villain Circe in Creature Commandos. This could suggest that there are bigger plans for the character, either in the upcoming series, or the DC Universe as a whole. Though until official casting information comes out, any speculation is purely in the theoretical.

Paradise Lost has a series order for Max by DC Studios. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the DC Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
