Ex-Collingwood president, television executive and presenter Eddie McGuire isn’t Ms McGuire’s only famous sibling – another brother, former journalist Frank McGuire, served as the Broadmeadows MP for about a decade.
Belle Property principal Sam Inan said that Ms McGuire and her husband were selling the circa-1880s Wattle Rd house they have owned since 2015 with plans to downsize now their children have grown up.
“They have lived in it and extended substantially in the time they have owned it,” Mr Inan said.
A project overseen by architect Kirby Roper rebuilt the residence’s rear section and added an upstairs area.
Downstairs, floor-to-ceiling double doors open to the garden featuring a solar-heated pool and outdoor entertaining areas draped with ornamental grapevines.
Mr Inan said the 1200sq m block included a large grassed backyard.
“You could see people just chipping a golf ball in the evening or kids having a game of cricket,” he said.
“You could possibly put a massive in-ground trampoline in there if you want.”
The garden, created by landscape designer Annick Houle, and pool can be seen from the kitchen that’s fitted with marble benchtops, a butler’s pantry, two Miele dishwashers, two Kleenmaid ovens and a custom-designed breakfast bar.
The main bedroom suite contains a walk-in wardrobe and ensuite, while the abode also has
a formal lounge and space that could be used as a home office, sitting room or additional bedroom.
Upstairs there are three bedrooms, one with an ensuite, the main bathroom and a second living area with a built-in desk and Melbourne CBD skyline views.
Other highlights include a powder room, laundry, courtyard and an automated indoor and outdoor sound system.
