Rob Liefeld Makes Grand Return To ‘Youngblood’ For New Image Comics Run

Rob Liefeld is headed back to Image Comics! The iconic creator will return to his groundbreaking Youngblood comic books with a revival series and brand new merch.

It’s no secret that Rob Liefeld was a kingmaker for comics back in the 90s. The writer seemed almost invincible with hit after hit. This culminated in the creation of Youngblood, an independent comic line that dwarfed sales of Marvel and DC books at the time of its debut, and launched the brand fans know and love as Image Comics.

After over 5 years of sitting dormant, Image Comics is finally ready to take the franchise off its shelf. Rob Liefeld will officially make his return to the franchise in 2025, with a brand new Youngblood series written and drawn by him hitting store shelves next year. More details about the revival are said to be unveiled in the coming weeks.

Rob Liefeld Speaks On Youngblood Return

Fans aren’t the only ones excited about Youngblood finally making their return in the catalogue of Image Comics. Rob Liefeld is happy to be back with one of his favorite franchises. When reflecting on the series ahead of the announcement, Liefeld admitted that it’s always been a personal favorite of his, and he loves the long-dormant team that spearheaded the Image Revolution over 30 years ago.

“It’s so great that I can run into the comfort of characters that I created,” Liefeld explained. “That launched a movement. They carry such history. I love Youngblood so much. These characters are my absolute passion.”

Along with Rob Liefeld’s return to Youngblood, a number of exciting new pieces of merch have been revealed to be coming in the near future. These include direct collaborations with Image Comics, such as a Youngblood Vault Edition with high resolution scans of art from the original run, as well as a Facsimile Edition of Youngblood #1 to celebrate the series’ 33rd anniversary next April.

Youngblood is officially making its return in 2025 in a new series written and illustrated by Rob Liefeld.  Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the revival and other Image Comics properties. Make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
