Glen Powell Reveals If He’s Been Contacted By Marvel Or DC Studios For A Superhero Role

Could Glen Powell be the perfect superhero? The rising star reveals if Marvel or DC Studios have reached out for him to play a role.

Glen Powell has enjoyed a meteoric rise to stardom in recent years. And just like any big actor, this has come with calls for him to play a superhero. While his name has been tossed around with nearly every role under the sun, it seems the studios aren’t as interested as fans. According to Powell, neither Marvel or DC Studios have contacted him about joining their universe.

“You know, I’ve never gotten a call from DC or Marvel,” Powell explained to The Playlist “But I’m a fan of everything they do. I just saw Deadpool and Wolverine. I freaking had a blast. I think what Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds did with that is extraordinary and just such a fun flavor for audiences. And I cheer for them, and I love what [they do.]”

“I think James Gunn, Peter Safran, and what they’re doing at DC – I think it’s going to be really, really good for that business. So, it’s like, yeah, I cheer them all on. I’m a big fan of the movies.”

Even though Glen Powell hasn’t been contacted by Marvel or DC Studios, it’s good to hear that the actor loves superhero movies. Earlier this year the internet used his lack of interest in a all but one role to claim he hated the genre in general. So while Powell may not be strapping on the spandex anytime soon, fans can rest assured he’s cheering from the sidelines.

Glen Powell’s Potential Secret Role In The DC Universe

Of course, Glen Powell would be far from the only actor to lie about being cast in a superhero project. Signs seem to point to DC Studios sniping him right out from Marvel’s nose. Recent Instagram activity suggests that the actor may be in contact with big wigs for the DC Universe, including those associated with the highly-coveted role of Batman.

However, the actor is certainly busy enough that a role with Marvel or DC Studios could be off the table altogether. Glen Powell recently became attached to a remake of The Running Man by Edgar Wright. Other massive franchise projects are also in the works with his involvement, including Top Gun 3 and a potential reboot of Captain Planet.
