‘Spider-Man 4’ Rumor Suggests Massive Plot Overhaul With Kingpin
Will Spider-Man ever face off against Kingpin? A new rumor gives fans some bad news regarding the plot of Spider-Man 4 as production sits in limbo.
With it nearing two years since the last Spider-Man film hit theaters, fans have been gnawing at their seats waiting for any news they can get about Spider-Man 4. The rumor mill has been kind when it comes to the plot, as it seemed that Marvel was aiming for the webslinger to face off against Kingpin in his next feature film, potentially featuring some other street level heroes.
However, it seems Marvel is putting these plans on hold for now. According to a new rumor from The Cosmic Circus, the studio wants to save Spider-Man’s fight against Kingpin until after Avengers: Secret Wars, meaning the plot of Spider-Man 4 will be receiving a massive shakeup. Who the new villain would be, however, wasn’t revealed in the post.
What Fans Know About The Plot Of Spider-Man 4
While not much is known about the villain aside from it not being Kingpin, the rumor does reveal some further details about the plot of Spider-Man 4. This includes the fact that Spider-Man will be heading to ESU, and that there’s a chance that Jacob Batalon will return as Ned Leeds alongside Zendaya’s return as MJ.
It’s also more likely than not that, given the post-credits scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Marvel will be doing something with the Venom symbiote in Spider-Man 4. Though it’s likely the suit will be a leading component in multiple films, including the one where Spider-Man faces off with Kingpin, so Venom probably won’t end up being the main villain of the project either.
